Dear Gaters, Dear Heroes!!!
I call you this because this is how you should feel.

At present, there are 222,000,000 million children living in difficult situations, which are not in line with what constitutes a healthy and happy childhood. 222 million!!! This is unacceptable.

Life has a very bitter and cruel side, but all of us who are part of Gate, and you as a Gate Donor being a part of it, have decided not to turn away. We refuse to be consumed by our daily problems. To look beyond. To be thankful for what we have and to ACT. To change the part of the world that we can reach. And together, we have done it again this 2023 with 270 children from Kathu (Thailand) and Pan Bendito Madrid.

With real, true, deep impact, with love, and providing them with seeds that, when they blossom in their adult lives, will help them towards a better future.

Furthermore, you make an impact in the present: from various angles such as providing them with a healthy life, sports, a safe place where they can feel like children, helping them to study and learn, showing them that there are people near and far who care about them. That seems incredible to them.

But also acting in emergency situations they are experiencing, such as uninhabitable places that cannot be called home, lack of food, or a very adverse family environment. And you have changed that! Tears fall from my eyes for some of the things I have seen that no being, let alone a child, deserves.

An example: thanks to the support of the Gaters, at the beginning of the year we initiated the Heart program. This program allows us to act immediately in the face of completely intolerable living conditions, offering assistance in emergency cases. A specific case demonstrating the effectiveness of the program is the case of Tiger, a 12-year-old boy who was living with his family in a shack next to a landfill. Thanks to the urgent intervention of the Heart program, we were able to ensure a dignified housing for him and his family. Furthermore, through the Academic Tiger program, he significantly improved his academic performance. Consequently, the family has more faith in continuing to fight to escape from the recycling of waste.

In our program of values and physical and emotional training, we observe how children who lacked tools and aspirations strengthen their self-esteem, becoming active participants in their communities and, in the future, role models for future generations.

Furthermore, in 2023 I want to highlight another important milestone, as Gate celebrated its fifth anniversary. Looking back, we proudly observe all that we have achieved, but more importantly, we look forward with determination to all that we still aim to accomplish.

All of this is possible thanks to the support of you, the Gaters. In this 2023, we have not reached the minimum budget required to cover the projects, and we will have to use emergency funds. We will give our utmost, but we need you not to disconnect from the transcendental of what we are doing together: improving the lives of child. What could be more important?

In 2024, we will continue to improve and, if possible, incorporate a new project to reach a third location and give hope to more children. But this will be possible ONLY with the support and commitment of everyone.
